Cardinals Baseball Fun Box!

Rick's birthday was finally here. I had no idea what to do but wanted to make it special since I am leaving him for a month this summer and have been busy getting ready for prom. He is a HUGE St. Louis Cardinals fan so I decided to do a themed box.... I really wished I could find more Cardinal themed items out in Nebraska but this is what I came up with....

I got baseball mints

St.Louis Cardinals Peanuts

Made baseball guys with the help of my
Cricut

Each tag says "I'm good for one St. Louis
Cardinal ticket. He works so much I didn't know
what dates to do.

Bought a shirt and put it all together.

Finished wrapping!
SUPER EASY!!!! He loved it! Can't wait to find a date to the game now!

Pizza Balls

The posting everyday. Too hard. I'm way to busy. So I will instead highlight fun things like I used to.

So I decided to make some Pizza Balls. I love cheese and pepperoni, I figured what a perfect meal. This is super easy to make and doesn't require tons of ingredients like other stuff I make.

Here are the ingredients!!

Ingredients: Colby Jack Cheese
Biscuits (I just got the ones that came in the pop can)
                  Pepperoni
                  An egg
                  Pizza Sauce
                  Parmesan Cheese
                  Garlic Salt
* Note- I just eye stuff, I usually don't measure :)*

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
2. Cut the cheese into squares.

My cheese all cut up, I like lots of cheese.

3. Open the biscuits and flatten them with your hands so you have an increased surface area to work with.

Flatten the biscuit!
4. Once they are flattened then stack pepperoni and cheese inside.
You could put one layer, I like two :)
5. After putting the cheese and pepperoni inside then wrap up the biscuit.

Make a little home and tuck in the sides to
make a ball.

My pizza balls

6. After putting them in a greased pan place sprinkle garlic salt and Parmesan cheese on top then place in oven for about 30 minutes.

Fresh out of the oven.
7. Put the pizza sauce and sprinkle some Parmesan cheese in a bowl. You have your dipping sauce!!!

Enjoy :)

Kayak Tipping... Better then cow??

April 6: I know I'm a little behind in posting for everyday. I have crappy service lately. But, I had to share this before the others!!!

I had the day off and haven't kayaked in about a week and half. Excited to get out! Couldn't sleep so got up early strapped the kayak on.

I got to Powder Creek via a 20 minute back road detour! 8:15 I'll still take it --I knew I had to be off the lake early today! I paddled to the middle, the wind really starting to pick up and the waves were getting choppy. I wanted some more protection so paddled over into the back bay to try my fishing luck.

Choppy, I see my bobber!

I got some advice from my brother to go with gulp maggots. I started fishing and floating. The current was really pushing me so I decided to hunker down on the rocks and keep casting. I wasn't really paying attention and all of a sudden my fishing rod jerked. I set the hook and had a nice fight. At the end of my line what did appear???

A 15inch or so Catfish!

I'll take it!

Super excited me!!!!!

I decided to paddle close to the shore and go to the other side. I got a little close........When this happened.....

In west powder creek I hear the occasional moo and there is more wildlife then your average zoo! I spend most of my day chillin' out kayaking and fishing the lake away. A couple of geese  who were up to no good started making trouble in the lake woods one flew a little close and I got scared, I took a dunk and now I had wet hair!

My hoodie weight about 40 pounds after the dunk!!!

I ended up paddling a little close to a goose nesting area. The water was a little chilly!!! I was right by the shore so no big deal. I laid out my clothes to dry out. I could have walked 1/4 mile to my car for some dry clothes but there's no fun in that. I dried out what I needed to and got back in the kayak.

Caught some Panfish
I had to get going due to Easter weekend.

The truck is all packed up!
Overall, I had a great day! Caught a nice catfish. Thanks Toddy!!! A little water never hurt!!!

Three Days of Kayaking-Finally Got The "Big" One

March 23:  Day off, what a great day it would turn out to be. I got to the Missouri River and saw a bald eagle flying up the river. I had just put my camera away when I saw it flying majestically, Murphy's Law. The river was like a sheet of glass which is totally surprising for a river. I wanted to kayak over to Goat Island and go for a hike.

Sand bars galore!

Goat Island introduction, used to actually have goats on it.
It is on the Nebraska side of the Missouri
River.

Passed the Smallest City Hall in America.
Maskell, Nebraska-population 54.
After a three hour hike and many cuts, scratches, blood, and a possible tick I decided to hit up my old spot of Powder Creek Dam. Not one soul in site today.  Decided to fish it up with a spinner, and a jig.
Finally caught something!!!
Just drifting away again....

Great day. Followed by a nice night. The two bright
lights are Venus and Jupiter.
March 24: Loaded up the kayaking and drove a whopping five minutes to Crystal Cove Lake. Another picture perfect day, no wind! I had to work later so decided to stay close. I am not a huge fan of the Lake due to the amount of people around it and a couple of boats. I like my peace and quite- the feeling of having a place to your self is amazing.  Decided to go with a spinner-jig today.
Crystal Cove
I floated and fished for about four hours. I got a bobber and a Frisbee Disc. There is a disc golf course that goes around the lake. The loop is around two miles. Someone's disc must have gotten away from them!

March 25: Sunday Funday. The forecast said another beautiful day. I went to Powder Creek and it was about 50 degrees and cloudy. I was a little chilled-the forecast said 80, hopefully they weren't wrong, I didn't have warm clothes on me. About three hours into my adventure the clouds started to blow away and the bright yellow thing peaked out of the sky.
Finally coming out!

As it warmed up the wildlife started to come out.

Stank wanted to try fishing. She decided to go
with worms, but she kept eating them!
I got snagged and was totally upset since I had to paddle all the way back to my car for another hook. Note to self bring extras. As I was paddling back.....

A fisherman made the same mistake as me,
a quick cut and had myself a new hook.
I was on my way again minding my business when I got one!

First fish of the season

Stank tried to eat the fish too!
I threw him back and his buddy then came to visit me! I think my sizes are going in the wrong direction.

Nice tips.

March Continues-Date Night Jar

March 18: Well today is my One Year Anniversary. Rick and I never can decide on what to do. I saw this idea on pinterest and decided to do a date jar but change it up a little.

Supplies:
              Mason Jar
              Tongue Depressors
              Black Sharpie Marker
              Super Glue
              Black Paint
              Yellow Paint
              White Paint
              Sparkle Glaze
              Black Ribbon

The products cost me a total of $6.43, due to already having a lot of the products in my house.

Step 1: Paint the tongue depressors. I choose white, black, and yellow due to the fact my boyfriend likes the Pittsburgh Steelers!!! I wish :( he likes...cough...cough...cough-Iowa Hawkeyes--which hurts since I am a Husker fan! Like the saying always goes..opposites attract!

The products

Needed a couple of more after getting started
Step 2: Paint the tongue depressors: black, white, and yellow.
Simon wanted to help me paint!!
Step 3: Write fun activities on the sticks. I chose black to be a filler stick. White not as much planning or money and yellow is more planning and money. The possibilities are endless!!!!

White: Take a walk              Board Games            Popcorn and a man flick
Cook Dinner             Make Cookies          Sit outside
Homemade pizza      Geocaching                Put together a puzzle

Yellow:  Omaha Zoo            Fishing                      Go to a baseball game
Camping                Look at dogs             Top Chief Challenge
              Kayaking               Progressive Meal       IMAX Movie

All my date sticks!
Step 4: Put it all in your jar. I found out that since my lid was in two pieces it was better to glue it together and then paint it with a clear sparkly coat of paint! I then super glued a ribbon around it and put a key for the sticks!!!
Final product

View from up top!!!

I gave it to Rick and he loved it!!! What a relief. He liked how I made the colors towards his team and not girly. :) Point for me!!
